After an epic weekend in 2025, we can't wait to go again for the Traka 2026. It's way more than just gravel races (of which there are many). Group meets at Girona. Collections at Girona airport, Girona train station and Girona old town. Transfer to Pyrenees Cycling Club farmhouse for bike setup. Evening gravel ride to shake out your legs. Homemade dinner, meet the group and relax
After a homemade cyclists' breakfast, we head out on a guided gravel ride to explore the Haut Vallespir area of French Catalunya. We will ride trails that are similar in surface and gradient to the terrain of the Traka races (typically 60% tarmac; 40% unsurfaced tracks). We will look at bike setup including tyres pressures and your hydration & fuelling strategy. Plunge those legs into the cold pool and relive the day's adventure over a home cooked dinner.
Option A: Van transfer to Girona
After breakfast we transfer to our accommodation at Can Feliu in Girona. It's a comfortalbe house in the old town and will be our base for the Traka weekend. Guided gravel ride to check out Girona's beautiful gravel tracks, in particular the first part of the race routes. Home made dinner at the house followed by evening in Girona's old town. If you like good coffee, bike shops and old cities, you won't be disappointed!
Option B: cross-border ride from Pyrenees CC to Girona
Why not turn the transfer to Girona into a cross-border adventure, and ride some of Chris' favourite roads and trails from Pyrenees CC to Girona? This ride will be guided by Chris, and Vicky will transfer your luggage to Girona in the van. 110km ride with around 1700 meters of climbing
50km gravel ride to get the legs rested and recovered, checking out some of Girona's best gravel routes. Lunch out on the road, followed by a meal back at home base. Free evening to chill out or explore Girona on foot. We will visit the Cathedral, the Game of Thrones locations, the city walls and more historic sights. Not forgetting the bike shops and cafés!
After a homemade breakfast, guided gravel ride along the Via Verde railroad gravel track to th beach at Sant Feliu (out and back). On our return to Girona, we will pass by the Traka race village as the 200km will have taken place today. In the event village there is food, music, bike mechanics and more. Soak up the festival atmosphere. Followed by home made dinner back at the house. Free evening in Girona, or chill out at the house either in preparation for tomorrow.
Race day for the Traka 100km. Allow Chris & Vicky, your soigneurs, to take over your race day prep so you can focus on relaxing and having fun. Breakfast, spare clothing, race nutrition and hydration; we look after it all for you. We will ride the 100km event as a group, with Chirs on hand for any bike repairs. Consider it a gravel race, but ridden like a social ride. We are there for the shared experience! If you want to see a PB that's fine, Vicky will be waiting for you at the finish line. Group meal in the evening to celebrate your success in finishing Europe's biggest gravel race!
Departure day - after a good night's sleep, you will awake to the smell of breakfast cooking and a coffee to take the edge off packing up and saying goodbye. Depending on flight or train times, walk to a coffee shop in the old town to stretch those legs and shared stories and photo of yesterday. Transfers to the airport or rail station and one more high five, until next time!
We can also run a transfer to/from Barcelona airport. 190€ per trip, per vehicle. Prices will be digressive according to number of people in the shuttle.
You can add gravel bike rental to your order if required. This tour is limited to 6 places due to the demand for race entries and the availability of quality accommodation on the race weekend.
