Gravel biking is the perfect way for cycling enthusiasts to get off the beaten track, explore hidden trails and get back to nature.
Gravel bikes bridge the gap between road and mountain bikes. With lightweight frames and narrower bars than a mountain bike, you can climb dirt trails with ease, but chunkier tyres help to absorb the bumps and give you confidence on gravel tracks.
Knowing what to expect and what to pack for a gravel bikepacking adventure can seem daunting. If you book one of our guided tours we will provide you with a packing list and arrange daily luggage transfer, so you don't have to worry about carrying everything on your bike!
If you're planning your own self-guided trip Epic Road Rides has some helpful tips.
The Pyrenees-Orientales offers a wide range of rides for roadies. From high mountain passes to flat coastal plains, a great day's riding includes a mountain climb with a fast descent ending at the beach for a dip in the Mediterranean. Our holiday packages include a support vehicle and bike transport. We will work with you in the lead up to your holiday to build the perfect road cycling adventure for your group.
Want something a bit more technical?
Not only is the Pyrenees-Orientales ideal for road and gravel biking, it's a playground for mountain bikers too! With around 20 different marked trails from green to black within 5km of our base, you will be spoilt for choice. Every single one offers challenging climbs, stunning views and gnarly descents that will leave you feeling exhilarated.
If you're new to gravel cycling or can't bring your own bike with you, we can arrange bike hire, collection and return for you so all you have to do is turn up and ride!
Our suppliers have a fantastic range of bikes, from road, to gravel to e-bikes, including electric gravel bikes, so you can choose the perfect bike for your holiday.
Our Cytech-qualified on-site mechanic, Chris, can build bikes that have been transported, tune up and check your bike after rides, do running repairs and even pack your bike back into its bag or box ready for your flight home. He loves nothing better than sharing knowledge, so if you need a lesson, or quick refresher, on basic bike maintenance, he'll happily oblige!
