Any Questions?

What can I expect on the rides?

We are based in the eastern Pyrenees in southern France, an hour’s ride from the coast, an hour from the high mountains and only a few kilometres from the Spanish border. You can expect the holiday to incorporate rides to the Mediterranean Coast and its picturesque seaside towns and ports; border-crossings into Spain with dramatic mountain scenery; historic walled towns and remote mountain villages, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and coffee. All rides will have a support vehicle on hand to carry spares in case of punctures or to transport weary riders as required. Your guide will provide plenty of interesting facts and anecdotes about the places you pass through, so you get a feel for the history of this stunning area.

I’m not at peak fitness right now and worried about being left behind – should I book?

Absolutely, yes! We pride ourselves on being a flexible cycling holiday for all abilities and have many ways to support riders who may not feel confident in riding long distances or steep climbs. In advance of the trip we will send a questionnaire to each rider to determine whether there are any major splits in the group and will tailor the daily rides accordingly, either by offering two routes or by offering a halfway lift in the support vehicle.

How do I book?

Simply complete the contact form below to request a quote and booking form.  Please include the type of room you would like and whether you will require bike hire. A deposit of 25% is required to confirm your place, with the remaining 75% due 6 weeks before the start of the trip (26th March).

Which flights should I book?

We recommend the Ryanair London Stansted – Perpignan route on Thursday 7 May – Tuesday 12 May and will be providing airport transfers from Perpignan for these flights. If you need to travel from/to a different airport, please let us know and we will do our best to support you but be prepared that you may need to arrange your own transfers to the property. We can advise on alternative routes as required.

Can I bring my bike?

Yes! Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring your bike and make sure it is adequately insured for travel.

Can I hire a bike for the holiday?

Yes, we have partnerships with local companies and can arrange bike hire for you. Simply let us know at least 6 weeks in advance, or better yet in the contact form below when you enquire and we will add the cost of bike hire to your quote.

What if my bike breaks down on the holiday?

Chris is Cytech qualified and what he doesn’t know about fixing bikes isn’t worth knowing. If you have a break down we will aim to fix it for you so you can enjoy your holiday, but if it is not possible to repair on site we can arrange to take it to a local bike shop to be repaired, or arrange alternative bike hire.

What’s cooking?

Breakfast and evening meals (with accompanying wine and beer) are included in the price. We provide a continental buffet breakfast with an option for cooked breakfast if desired. Evening meals are home-cooked and provide all the carbohydrate, protein and healthy vegetables a hungry cyclist needs to refuel after a day in the saddle plus a delicious dessert; after all, you’ve earned it! Lunch, except for the welcome lunch on the first day, is not included in the price and will be taken at cafés or restaurants en route.

Will I have to share a room?

No, all bedrooms are single occupancy (double bed) and you can choose to either share a bathroom with another guest (no more than one other guest will share your bathroom) or to have a private en suite bathroom, subject to availability.

What is there to do in the evenings?

The property is located in a rural area, surrounded by beautiful woodland. There is no local ‘night life’ (except for the activity of nocturnal animals which you may catch a glimpse of either in person or via our camera trap) so evenings will be a time for relaxing, eating and chatting, with the opportunity for a swim in the pool or a walk if you want to keep those legs warmed up.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us using the contact booking form below or email pyrenees.cc@gmail.com:
